Fostering Forgiveness in Fatherhood with David Jordan

The reparations after conflict are so much more important than the conflict itself. How we repair after conflict directly ties into forgiveness. Conflict is a natural part of life, but how do we grow beyond that? It all depends on whether we build attachment or disassociate.
— David Jordan

On this week’s episode of 2 Dads 1 Car, we speak with David Jordan, the Executive Director of the Vancouver Maritime Museum and a dedicated, experienced father to three wonderful children.

Our conversation centres around the important role that forgiveness plays in the familial relationship between parent, child, and ourselves. As a father to teenagers, David shares the experience of watching his relationship with his children grow and mature over time, and the value of recognizing and acknowledging past mistakes to foster trust within his family. David also discusses the ways in which his family adapts to the digital age and disability by favouring tailored approaches to learning and staying present and conscious in their children’s growth journeys.

Many thanks to David for taking the time to speak with us!
